LTC Win Principal BALI Award, November 2007
LTC were awarded a Principle Award at the British Association of Landscape Industries award ceremony in November 2007.
The Principle Award for the 'Land Renewal Scheme' category, was for the environmental regeneration of a degraded residential area at Pontnewynydd, Torfaen (South Wales). The scheme has been implemented in three phases, and the award was granted for the third phase of the works.
The judge commented that Pontnewynydd Phase 3 is "a brilliant scheme, well executed and on schedule" and that "It was a truly memorable experience to witness the change in this community following completion".
The award is given in recognition of the Client (Torfaen County Borough Council), the Designer (LTC Landscape Architecture) and the Contractor (Blakedown Landscapes (Operations) Ltd).

Project Landscape Architects
We are looking for 2 fully qualified, well motivated Landscape Architects, able to manage their own projects and who can demonstrate design flair with enthusiasm, and have a dynamic approach to challenges.
The first candidate will have 5 years MLI experience and require excellent design, communication and graphic skills. You will be able to take a significant role in assisting with management of the Practice, have excellent Client liaison skills and a desire to expand the practices portfolio and to progress your own career.
The second candidate will be a Landscape Architect and MLI and will be expected to run projects and assist senior staff.
The successful candidates would be involved with all aspects of our current workload from assessment through design, to implementation and management.
Computer literacy and a working knowledge of AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite essential.

Crumlin Arm of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, August 2007
The preparation of a phased, 10 year 'Environmental Enhancement and Landscape Management Plan' for the Crumlin Arm of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal has recently been completed for Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Completion of the 800,000 pound Plan, has allowed the Local Authority to enter into a joint bid to the Big Lottery Fund's Living Landmark programme, alongside adjacent Local Authorities, the Monmouthshire Brecon and Abergavenny Canal Trust, and British Waterways.
Funding will enable the implementation of landscape, engineering and ecological improvements to the canal corridor.

Newport Gateways Study, June 2007
LTC have been appointed to undertake an environmental study of main 'Gateways' at Newport South Wales. The Study aimed at enhancinig the main vehicular, pedestrian and transport entrances to Newport in time for the Ryder Cup Competition to be staged at Newports Celtic Manor in 2010, has been commisioned by the Welsh Assembly in conjunction with Newport Unlimited.
3 Projects Start on Site, February 2007
Three new implementation contracts will start on site during March 2007. The sites include the fourth phase of a regeneration scheme at an Industrial Estate in Llanelli, South Wales, the construction of 5 new areas of Public Open Space within two new housing developments in Wiltshire, and the landscape of a new Distributor Road in South Wales.
LTC has designed, tendered and administered the projects.
